Listed firm Filinvest Development Corporation and JG Summit have formed an unincorporated consortium with Changi Airports Philippines and Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions to bid for the management, operation, and maintenance of existing and new passenger terminals of the Clark International Airport.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Filinvest and JG Summit said the unincorporated consortium has been named North Luzon Airport Consortium. The consortium submitted Friday to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) its bid to manage and operate Clark’s airport’s terminals.
The consortium will vie against eight other firms that have purchased bid documents for the Clark International Airport Contract. The other bidders are Metro Pacific Investments Corp, San Miguel Holdings Corp, Megawide-GMR Consortium, AirAsia Group, Prime Assets Venture, Central Luzon Infrastructure Consultancy Inc.Consortium, GVK Airport Developers Ltd, and Groupe ADP.
The state-owned BCDA, in partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), began the selection process for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
During the Pre-Bid Conference, BCDA Assistant Vice President for Business Development Arrey Perez discussed the scope of the O&M Concession, including the management and operations of the existing CIA Passenger Terminal and the New Terminal Building after its completion and successful commissioning, legal qualification criteria, and technical qualification criteria for the prospective bidders.
“The government intends to partner with a world-class international airport operator for the O&M, which is expected to be awarded by August 30,” BCDA President and CEO Vivencio Dizon said.

The Clark International Airport, which is envisioned to be the next major gateway in the country, is the first hybrid infrastructure project under the Duterte administration.
The airport serves various destinations locally and internationally with 332 domestic flights weekly and 158 international flights weekly. The number of flights dramatically increased in 2018, with a 122 per cent increase or 7,600 flights in 2018 as compared from 3,400 in 2017. – BusinessNews.ph
