To gather feedback and project validation, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will conduct a market-sounding webinar about Kennon Road’s rehabilitation, improvement, operations, and maintenance project on Friday, April 8.

In a statement, the DPWH said it has been inviting interested individuals to participate in the event, which will be conducted with the help Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center “to solicit insights and feedback on the project terms from interested private sector investors.”

DPWH Undersecretary for Public-Private Partnership Service Maria Catalina E. Cabral said that the agency’s project team had already interviewed developers, operators, and banks and gathered inputs to improve the project and make it marketable to the private sector.

“Nearing the finalization of study, the team now intends to gather feedback and validation on the project’s proposed components and structure,” Cabral explained.

Under the project, the DPWH will rehabilitate and operate the 33-km zigzag road to the Summer Capital in Benguet Province or Kennon Road, which aims “to provide convenient, safe, and all-weather access to Baguio City.”

The market-sounding webinar on April 8 will start from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Interested participants may register through the link: tinyurl.com/kennon participants or watch the event on DPWH’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/dpwhph.

Aside from Cabral, PPP Center Deputy Executive Director Eleazar E. Ricote and Mr. Matt Gil of consulting firm RebelGroup International will be present at the event.
