8:30 am to 1:30 pm
Hotel Intercontinental Singapore
Ballroom, Level 2
80 Middle Road
Singapore 188966
Provisional Program
Seminar Fee: S$ 50
Event Description:
Under the new Aquino administration, the Philippines is undergoing its 13th year of consecutive growth. With a GDP growth rate of 5.9% for April to June, the country is one of Southeast Asia’s best economic performers. The Peso is also one of the region’s best performing currencies and the country’s credit rating has just been revised upwards – it’s highest since 2003.
The Philippines’ Public-Private Partnership (PPP) programme has recently approved 407 billion pesos (US$9.7 billion) worth of infrastructure projects, spelling business opportunities for Singapore companies in infrastructure, transportation and environmental services.
The country’s domestic consumption is also fuelled by roughly 9.5 million Filipinos, or 10 per cent of the population working abroad and sending money home. Last year, overseas Filipinos sent home about US$20 billion, up from US$7.5 billion in 2003. Coupled with a consumer debt ratio of 7% – the lowest in Asia, this presents opportunities for the food and retail sectors.
Join us and learn more about the opportunities in the growing Philippine economy and from the Public-Private Partnership Centre of the Philippines, franchising association and Singapore companies as they share about the Public-Private Partnership and consumerism landscape in the Philippines. You can also look forward to meeting key government agencies, industry multipliers and local conglomerates to build your network and/ or explore collaborations.
