Located in the Ilocos Region in the northern part of the Philippines, the San Fernando Airport, once upgraded, will serve as a regional airport that can accommodate direct flights to La Union, Baguio, and other tourist spots in the region. Considered as the surfing capital of the Philippines to both the local surfers and the world surfing circuit, the airport can readily function as the region’s gateway to other beaches and diving sites. It will also link with and complement the operations of Clark International Airport located in the Clark Freeport Zone.

Project Description:
The proposed Upgrading of the San Fernando Airport Project will entail the upgrading of the airport facilities to meet the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements to cater to larger aircrafts for international flights and safety standards. It will also involve the construction of an airport terminal with a mall complex. The project is located at Barangay Poro, San Fernando City in La Union.
Investment Opportunity:
The upgrading of the airport will include development works such as removal of obstructions (e.g. hills, trees, transmission lines); expansion of existing and parking areas; and construction of a new terminal building, a new fire stub taxiway, and a new apron; among others.
